Welcome to the Internet, I'm glad you're here. The most amazing creation of all mankind. Even more unbelievable than a nuclear explosion! I'm talking about a network of billions of interconnected computing devices used by people all over the world!

It's no doubt that the internet is the greatest thing ever. It has been a part of every day life since 2000. The future is now and now is forever changing.

It's so easy with all of the cheezy looking advertisements and "schemes" you see to be weary of anything with the word "money" in it you read on the internet. That's why I'm getting that out of the way now. But if you are the least bit curious about how to actually make money on the internet -- Listen up.

I'm nothing special. Some people would say I'm gifted, but I'm really no different than anybody else. I have my good and bad qualities, but I'm a human being just like you.

Knowledge is important yes, but the thing I love most about the internet is it is all around. You have to learn how to decipher through the bullsh1t and that takes practice. I've been online since I was 10 years old when America Online 2.5 came out. I picked up one of the free trial CDs that you saw all over the place. When I got home I convinced my neighbor to use his credit card to signup to get the free hours.

Back then, you had to buy hours of internet time. Boy how things have changed. I started out your normal curious pre-teen boy on the internet. Looking at porn, downloading everything, going to chatrooms and talking smack all that fun stuff.

Then after my 50 free hours were up I had to figure out a way to stay online. I heard about NetZero, an internet service provider that gave you free dial-up internet. The only catch was you had a box on your screen that displayed advertisements that didn't go away. There's always a catch, but hey that's not a bad deal.

I was in. The internet captivated me from the very beginning. You could do anything and everything that was awesome. Talk to people from all over the world, learn about anything you wanted, play video games, watch movies, listen to music. What more could you ever ask for?

Money. Money and Sex. But I wouldn't recommend having sex with your computer. It's better to find a partner that is an actual human being. You can meet people online, but.. nevermind. Back to money.

I have found that there are 2 basic ways to make money online:

1. You can provide a service to the online community.

2. You can sell a product to the online community.

And that's it folks. Everything falls into one of those two categories. And you might also recognize that those are the basics of making money in the real world. That's because the internet is the real world. It is a part of the real world, and that's why it's important to remember the internet is nothing but real life. Life has rules and life has limitations. Life has a way of doing things and life is joy.

Money comes from people, and the only way to get that money is to offer them something that they need or want in exchange for it. And that comes with sincerety and purpose. Without those, whatever product or service you provide will surely fail.

You can break down the 2 ways of making money so many times that the universe would colapse into itself. I say that because the internet, and the universe have an infinite amount of purposes and are entirely sincere.

You are not going to make any money in life (or online) if you don't:

A. Work Hard
B. Work Hard
C. Be Sincere
D. Be Sincere
E. Work Hard
F. Be Sincere
G. You Get the picture..

The point is, in order to work hard you have to learn. Learn about people. Learn about the world. In order to be sincere you have to care. Care about the services you provide. Care about the products you sell.

You CAN make money on the internet. I personally believe that there is no greater place. The military put so much emphasis on the telegraph during the civil war, and look at what the average, every-day citizen has in their power today. The Computer along with the Internet.

Put this power to good use and you can multiply your possibilities 100000000000000E+1000000x10000000 to the 1 millionth degree. Don't think so? Look at Apple, look at Microsoft. Look at Google. Look at Twitter. You can't deny that Hot Sh1t.

To make money online many people jump right in before they are properly prepared. You know that to be a rocket scientist, a doctor, a brick layer, a construction worker, an office worker, a teacher there are prerequisites, things you must learn, before you can be successful, you don't just jump right in unprepared.

The same applies to the Internet marketing industry even though there are unsavory people out there who'd have you believe it's a "Walk in the Park" and requires no more than the belief that you can just do it.

And I'll have to admit, it is a walk in the park compared to what you have to put up with in the working world punching a clock being a subordinate to someone who does not have your interests in mind, but there are still rules you have to follow and pitfalls you must avoid to actually make Internet marketing work for you.

Most people will not make a dime online and yet there are others who will make more in one month than most people make in a whole year. Why is that?

My answer begins with the age-old chicken or egg question, "what comes first the chicken or the egg"? Personally I vote for, well never mind, each argument you or I make comes back to the same old conclusion - I have no clue and I don't think many of us do either.

But one thing I do have a clue about and know for sure is that to make money online you must first have Passion for the company products and/or service of any Internet business from which you expect to make money.

Passion in this sense simply means that you've researched and like the company and products or services. It is then that you translate that like (or Passion) into the education, excitement and work that usually accompany Passion.

I will have to say that many online entrepreneurs are so good at what they do that they ignore passion because they can sell anything. But I'm concerned about those of you who are not so knowledgeable at working an online business successfully.

Now, I'm not trying to make anyone believe that Passion is the only thing necessary. Because to be successful you must also have a good website, good marketing, widespread advertising, company support, effective keywords, and etc. Those things are often learned from the company you join - but sidestep Passion and you reduce your chances for success dramatically.

It therefore follows that, if you have no Passion for the company and the products and services provided by that company, again, you won't attempt to do the work you are being taught.

Internet marketing work is typically not all that difficult or time consuming but it does take motivation caused by Passion to get you off and running with a sustained effort so that you won't stumble.

You have a great resource in the Internet search engines to search about the Internet Marketing industry for business opportunities, USE IT!

Your research should uncover a company that you like and have confidence in. It should be solid, founded on great principles, and easy to understand with great products and services that are sell-able for which you can have Passion. If you don't find it move on,

You can find the right opportunity containing the attributes identified above.

Comments like, well, that one sounds good and the compensation plan is excellent so I guess I'll start that business - does not sound like a decision based on anything near Passion. And remember when you hear that an Internet "guru" does that, don't be tempted, because as I said earlier they are experienced and can sell just about anything, without being Passionate about the company products and services.

Note: By the way it's your goal to get to the point where you can sell about anything online. That end skill and goal is a worthy one indeed.

Remember, there are other steps you must make before you step into Internet Marketing but if you don't first find the right company products and services to be passionate about, all of those other steps may just cause you a lot of frustration instead of bringing you great success.

Not being Passionate about a company and products and services that has market proof that it will sell is a pitfall you simply must avoid.
